Very Portable Holiday Music

I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for Collective Bias and its advertiser.

I was super happy to be able to pick up this little Pocket Speaker from Carbon Audio at the Apple Store earlier this week. They had 6 colors to choose from at my store (I was reeeeeally tempted to get the white and neon pink, but went the conservative route with black and white instead). The employee who rang me up mentioned that he had just bought one too, and that the sound is really impressive. He pointed out how it has speakers on both sides so the sound really fills the room. Oh, and you can sync up two of them and have it play surround sound. Crazy!

I immediately got it out on the way home (no, I wasn't driving!) and had it synced and pumping out Pandora in less than a minute. Seriously. You just turn on music on your phone, then turn on the Pocket Speaker, and then make sure your Bluetooth is turned on in your settings on your phone, and it basically connects itself and starts playing.  Mind blowing. Perfect for us not-so-tech-savvy people.

I've used it every day since then. I usually have music playing on my stereo in the living room, but its been nice to have something very portable to carry around with me. Its extra small and extra loud! The sound really is amazing. Technology is amazing. When I was my daughter's age (oh this makes me feel old!), I had cassette tapes and a pink boom box with D batteries. Now we've got phones that hold a ridiculous amount of music files, and speakers that are tiny, wireless, and super clear. Crazy.

Anyway, I've loved carrying it around with me. From the bathroom while I'm getting dressed, to the kitchen while I'm cleaning up, to the playroom to dance with the kids.

When I was up late making and icing sugar cookies the other night, I was streaming my favorite instrumental Christmas music.

We hosted my husband's work Christmas party last night, and it was perfect for setting the mood of the party with classic holiday tunes. It was nice to be able to move it around from the dining room to the living room as the party went on. (Why, yes, that is a fireplace DVD playing. We're super classy.)

The battery lasts a loooong time (8 hours!) and it has a battery indicator that shows up on my phone screen, which is nice. Oh, and it has a built in microphone, so you can use it for phone calls too. It seems pretty sturdy, but I think I'm going to sew a little fleece case for it so it stays clean and safe in my purse.

I'm super happy with it, and I think it would make a great gift for the music lover in your life. Its exclusively at the Apple Store. Which color is your favorite?
