Five Minute Makeup – Get Ready Quick!

Kylie

I definitely feel my best and am most productive if I can get up and get showered early. And the quicker the better! I’m really happy with my current speedy quick five minute makeup routine. I thought I’d share whats working for me!

As much as I’d love to have all high-end fancy pants makeup, it just isn’t in the budget. I do have a few higher end items, but I’d like to think my makeup is a mixture of both drugstore and department store. You know, real mom stuff.

FACE

First up is my faaaaaaavorite IT Cosmetics CC Cream in “light”. It is foundation perfection for me. The coverage is definitely not heavy, but it magically color corrects and offers just the perfect amount of coverage. I use “light” year round. Also, it smells so fresh and glides on so smooth. You’ll love it. Seriously.

Next up is undereye cream because #momlife. I’ve been using the Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser in “light” and have been really happy with it. I like the quick spongey applicator and feel like the coverage is good, but still looks really natural. I also use it on my upper eyelids as a primer because they’re naturally kinda dark, and it works great. I used to use a MAC eye paint in “bare canvas” that I’m pretty sure they don’t sell anymore, but I’ve been able to do a two-fer with the Maybelline stuff.

Then Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in “dollface”, which is a recent addition to my collection and I’m never going back to anything else. It really does last way better than the MAC blush I was using before. It looks really natural and blends nicely. It doesn’t sit on top of my skin like some other blushes do. And it doesn’t melt in the heat/humidity which is so nice. “Dollface” is a nice light pink with no shimmer.

Next I do a bit of contouring with Benefit Hoola. I could probably use an actual contouring powder, but I like the shade of the Hoola. I use it near my hairline, along my nose, and in the hollow of my cheeks. And also under my chin, to reduce double chin-ness.

After that, I set it all with a translucent powder. Currently I’m using Ulta brand Finishing Powder in Translucent compact and have been happy with it.

I also use the Ulta brand Illuminating Powder in “yellow diamond” to just a HINT of highlight. I use this stuff sparingly because it is reeeeally shimmery. I put a super light dusting on the top of my cheekbones, and then lightly in a T (forehead, bridge of nose and center of chin. I use this stuff as double duty eyeshadow too. So I dust it across my lids as well.

EYES

To finish up my eyeshadow I use a quick swipe or two from an Urban Decay Naked palette. Most recently I’ve been using the Urban Decay Smoky palette, but if I was to go out and buy another one, it would be the Naked Basics.

I usually use a dark brown eyeliner, but I’ve been out for about 6 months and keep forgetting to pick one up. I’ve used the Almay one with shimmer, but I doubt I’ll buy it again. (I couldn’t even find it to link it up, its that old.)

Next is brows, and I LOVE the Ulta tinted brow gel in “light”. Its so easy and the color is great for blonds (I’m kind of obsessed with finding good blond brow pencils)I dab it at the front of my brows and then blend and brush it through to the ends. Easy and quick.

The mascara I’m currently using is Benefit They’re Real. Its a pretty good mascara, though I HATE the stabby wand. You have to use it carefully, or you’ll stab yourself with the spikes. But it looks good, doesn’t clump and doesn’t fall on my lower eyelids. I also like L’Oreal Voluminous mascara too.

LIPS

And then I swipe a layer of Cover Girl Outlast in Blushed Mauve, and let it sit while I do my mascara. Then when it has dried a bit, I do the gloss layer. I love this color and although it doesn’t last alllll day, it works for me.

BRUSHES

I use mostly Real Techniques Brushes. Everyday, I use the big powder brush, blush brush, setting brush (for highlighter), and deluxe crease brush (shadow). I randomly have an ELF angled blush brush that I use for bronzer/contour.
