I had a fantastic Christmas, how about you? It was crazy and busy, don’t get me wrong, but it was still great. My husband completely knocked it out of the park and gave me some really cool gifts. Probably to butter me up before his guy’s trip to Vegas the day after… annnnnd it worked. My husband got home last night, so today I headed out for some quality alone time, doing my favorite thing: shopping. I headed to Best Buy, with my gift card burning a hole in my wallet.
I first stopped at the mobile area in the front to see how close I was to an upgrade to the iPhone 5 (2 more months, boo.) So my little gift card would not be buying me one of these babies. Ohh the glitter. That’s adult glitter too, not the kiddie stuff.
Then I wandered over to the tablets and admired this cute tablet and case. Our kids basically own our iPads anyway (anyone else?).
We did get a new iPad Air for Christmas from two very awesome parents who spoil us every Christmas. I checked out the cases for the iPad Air, and seriously considered buying a keyboard case for it. How amazing is that? It basically turns the iPad into a laptop. We have tablets that have touch screens and Bluetooth keyboards. Crazy Jetson’s stuff. Have I mentioned that my toddler thinks that all phone calls are FaceTime calls? She walks around the house jabbering to my mom and showing her what she’s doing. Even when its on a landline!
Then to the appliances to look at the washers and dryers, and my favorite vacuum EVER.
Finally I headed to the section I had come in for… cameras. I have really been wanting to improve my photography skills lately. I received a couple of photography books for Christmas, which have really been helpful. But I quickly realized that my kit lens that came with the Nikon D40 was not going to give me the images with the look that I want. So I did a bit of research, asked a few friends for advice, and the super nice salesgirl at Best Buy agreed that the Nikon 50mm f1.8G was what I needed.
I’m so excited to play around with it and see what kind of pictures I can take with it. Everyone I talked to says it makes a huge difference. Excited!
I had so much fun wandering the store. My husband worked for Best Buy when we were first married, so its kind of a special place. Everyone is always friendly and helpful, and I get so many cool gift ideas when I go in to the store. You can also see what Best Buy gadgets are trending on Twitter, which is super helpful when you’re shopping for tech guys (like my husband and brothers!).
