How to turn a Calendar into a Gallery Wall – Easy!

Kylie

How to turn a beautiful or inspiring calendar into prints for an inexpensive gallery wall. Perfect for tweens, kids and playrooms!

My girls have been begging me to hang pictures up on their wall. Hello, we’ve only lived here for over a year girls, chillll. haha

I had a great idea when I was at Aldi the other day, and saw a cute calendar with watercolor inspirations sayings like “Choose Kindness” etc. I knew my girls would love it, but grandma had already bought them a calendar for this year.

And then the happy creative lightning struck! These calendar pages would be awesome gallery wall prints!

My first thought was to frame them, but IKEA is far, and Dollar Tree didn’t have the style of frames I was looking for. These pages were about 10″x10″ and sometimes square frames are hard to find on the cheap.

So my next idea was to use canvas and Mod Podge!

And they turned out great. My girls love having pretty things on the walls, and I have a few more that I want to hang in the playroom too.

My particular calendar isn’t available online, but I saw these cute ones at Hobby Lobby:

This could definitely be done with different styles of calendars: landscapes, art, etc.

I use velcro 3M strips to hang most of the gallery wall items. They’re so easy, especially because I just like to eyeball it and then stick it on the wall. Easy peasy!

  7. Hang and enjoy!

Notes

Obviously the same effect can be accomplished by framing the calendar pages. I chose to use the canvases to keep the cost of the project down. I also like the variation in style, when hung with photographs and other gallery wall objects.

This project works well with inspirational quote type of calendars, but would also be great with photo calendars that feature beautiful landscapes, landmarks or paintings.
